Rolex Day-Date 18238 Ammonite dial - "very good condition" - quickset

This Rolex Day-Date, reference 18238, comes in 18 karat yellow gold with an ammonite dial: a dark stone dial made from fossil ammonite with a strong natural pattern, set with two diamond markers at 6 and 9. It has the fluted gold bezel and the President bracelet, and is offered in very good condition.

The 18238, made from around 1988 to 2000, is the Day-Date with the automatic calibre 3155, whose double quickset lets the day and the date be set independently. The 36 mm yellow gold case has a sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown and is water resistant to 100 m. The Day-Date, introduced in 1956, was the first wristwatch to show the day of the week spelled out in full, and Rolex makes it only in gold and platinum.
