Patek Philippe introduced the Golden Ellipse in 1968. Its case follows the golden ratio, the proportion artists and architects have used since antiquity for perfect harmony, and it remains one of Patek's most iconic designs. The 3738/100G-014 is new for 2026 and marks the return of the classic medium-sized format, with an elliptical white gold case measuring 31.1 x 35.6 mm. The sunburst olive green dial on an 18K gold dial plate shifts in tone with the light. White gold baton hour markers and slender white gold hands keep the look pure and true to the collection's 1970s design. It comes on a matching shiny olive green calfskin strap with cream stitching and a white gold prong buckle.

Inside is Patek's ultra-thin self-winding calibre 240 with its off-centre 22K gold micro-rotor, which keeps the whole watch only about 5.9 mm thick. It offers around 48 hours of power reserve and is finished to the standards of the Patek Philippe Seal.
