Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Ref. 5960/1A-001 - "Very good" condition - Watch only
This Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph, reference 5960/1A-001, in stainless steel is offered as watch only, in very good condition.
Patek Philippe introduced the world’s first annual calendar wristwatch in 1996, and the 5960 combines that complication with a flyback chronograph. It was the first Patek powered by an in-house self-winding chronograph movement. The 5960/1A launched in 2014 in stainless steel on a matching steel bracelet, which is unusual for Patek, and it replaced the gold and platinum versions. The 40.5 mm polished steel case pairs with a silvery opaline dial and blackened gold hands and hour markers for crisp contrast. Three apertures under 12 o’clock show the day, date and month. A single counter at 6 o’clock combines the chronograph minutes and hours. A small sporty touch is the red “1” in the date aperture, which marks the start of each month.
Through the sapphire caseback you can see the self-winding calibre CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H. It has a column wheel, a vertical clutch, a flyback function, power reserve and day/night indicators, and a 21K gold rotor, with around 55 hours of power reserve. The annual calendar needs only one correction a year, at the end of February.
A technically remarkable steel Patek and a modern collector’s piece that is equally suited to daily wear.
