Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Very good" condition - MK2 - Extract from the archives
This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in steel has a black tapisserie dial with applied baton markers, a date at three o'clock and the “Automatic” signature, and is offered in very good condition. It comes with an Extract from the Archives from Audemars Piguet. The octagonal bezel with its eight hexagonal screws sits on a case that runs into the integrated steel bracelet with folding clasp.
The Royal Oak was designed by Gérald Genta and introduced in 1972 as one of the first luxury sports watches in steel. Its octagonal bezel held by eight screws, the integrated bracelet and the tapisserie dial have defined the model ever since, with brushed surfaces set against polished bevels. The self-winding movement drives hours, minutes, central seconds and date. A steel Royal Oak with date and black dial, documented by an Extract from the Archives.
