This is an A. Lange & Söhne Little Lange 1, reference 111.032, in 18K rose gold. It comes with the Lange archive extract and a folding clasp, and is in very good condition.
The Lange 1 is the watch that put German fine watchmaking back on the map after the brand's rebirth in 1994. In 1998 Lange introduced the Little Lange 1, reducing the case from 38.5 mm to 36.1 mm. It kept everything that makes the Lange 1 special: the off-centre, asymmetrical dial layout, Lange's famous outsize date, small seconds, and the "Auf/Ab" (up/down) power reserve indicator. The solid silver dial is framed by a warm rose gold case.
Through the sapphire caseback you can see the hand-wound calibre L901.0, with twin barrels and the three-quarter plate of untreated German silver that is a Glashütte hallmark, finished to Lange's exacting standards. It gives around 72 hours of power reserve.
The archive extract from Lange confirms the watch's details from the manufacture's records, which is valuable provenance in place of the original papers. A first-generation Lange 1 in a size that suits almost every wrist, and much rarer than its bigger sibling.
