A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Ref. 223.026 - "Very good" condition - Fullset - Limited to 50 pieces
This is an A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up & Down, reference 223.026, in 18K white gold. It is one of only 50 pieces of this limited edition, made in 2006. It comes as a full set and is in very good condition.
The 223.026 stands out from the regular 1815 Up & Down because of its case. It has a hunter-style caseback with a hinged gold cover that opens to show the movement through a sapphire crystal, a nod to the Lange pocket watches of the past. The silvered dial carries the classic 1815 look: Arabic numerals, a railway minute track, blued steel hands, and the power reserve indicator ("Auf/Ab", up and down) at 9 o'clock.
Under the gold cover is the hand-wound Lange calibre L942.1, finished to Glashütte standards. It has Glashütte ribbing, 27 jewels including screwed gold chatons, a swan-neck fine adjustment and a hand-engraved balance cock, with around 45 hours of power reserve. The 37 mm case is signed on the case, dial and movement, and the watch comes on its 18K white gold Lange buckle.
A rare, collectible Lange from the early years after the brand's rebirth, and only 50 were ever made.
