Patek Philippe launched the Golden Ellipse in 1968, and it remains one of the brand's most iconic designs. Its shape follows the golden ratio, the proportion artists and architects have used since antiquity for perfect harmony. The 3848 was made from the late 1970s until 1998. Its elegant 27 x 32 mm case is only about 6 mm thick, so it slips effortlessly under any shirt cuff. The blue dial with its clean hour markers is a perfect example of Patek's understated elegance.
