This Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, reference 5100-1140-052A, comes in steel with a blue sunburst dial, a blue bezel insert and a blue canvas strap. It is offered in very good condition as a full set with box and papers from its first German owner.

Blancpain introduced the Fifty Fathoms in 1953 as one of the first modern diving watches, and the Bathyscaphe line takes its name from a model of the 1950s. The 5100 is the 38 mm version, with a unidirectional rotating bezel, luminous indices and hands, and the date between 4 and 5 o'clock. Inside is the automatic calibre 1150 with around 100 hours of power reserve, and the steel case is water resistant to 300 m. A Fifty Fathoms in the quieter Bathyscaphe style, at 38 mm.
