The name Gondolo goes back to the early 20th century, when Patek Philippe made watches for Gondolo & Labouriau, its retailer in Rio de Janeiro. The name became associated with Patek’s elegant shaped watches. The reference 3842 was made from 1983 to 1998 in yellow gold, rose gold and platinum, and the rose gold version is one of the rarer variants. Its slim, cambered tonneau case measures about 29 x 31 mm and sits beautifully flat on the wrist. The dial with its applied rose gold numerals and Breguet hands gives the watch a refined, classic look.
