The word rare is used quite randomly in the watch world, but today we have a truly rare watch, thought to exist in not a vast amount of examples.
The Ellispe D’Or reference 3634 is a large size Ellipse measuring 38x33.5mm and features a very unusual and elegant three-step case.
These watches were sometimes fitted with rare hardstone dials, such as this incredible example with an onxy dial. The dial has a very clean appearance with no hour markers and white gold coloured no-lume hands. In combination with its very unusual three-step case it has an extraordinarily elegant appeal.
The watch is powered by the legendary automatic calibre 28.255, the same movement as the 3700 Nautilus. This Ellipse comes on the pictured leather strap that is fitted with the original Patek Phillipe white gold buckle.
