Louis Cartier designed it in 1904 for his friend, the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, who wanted to read the time without letting go of his plane’s controls. In 1978 Cartier relaunched the Santos with an integrated bracelet and exposed screws, and the 2960 became the classic automatic version of the 1980s and 1990s. It is the watch Gordon Gekko made famous in Wall Street. The square steel case measures about 29 x 41 mm and has the signature screwed bezel and bracelet.
